Hi, Katie ~
ReplyDeleteMy son Chase was diagnosed with HLHS at our 20-week ultrasound and it was beyond devastating. I had never heard of HLHS before then and immediately researched it online, finding the worst (outdated) statistics and was SO discouraged. Then I found blogs of other heart moms who have shared their experiences with having a baby with HLHS. Suddenly I saw there IS hope for our babies! I read about little ones who aren't just surviving but THRIVING! And I'm happy to say my sweet Chase is one of them! He had his Norwood at 7 days old and his Bi-Directional Glenn at 4 1/2 months. He's now 14 months old and the BIGGEST blessing in our lives! People who don't know us would NEVER be able to tell he was born with a special heart. He is simply amazing!
I know God has a plan for your sweet Olivia, and I also know how scary the unknown can be. But please know you have a HUGE support group of other heart moms who are here for you to help in any way you need us to! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
You can read about our journey with Chase on my blog at http://mom2lo.blogspot.com. If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at mom2lo@charter.net.
God bless you!
Kathy
